The One Act Competition returns for its 27th year with a new set of plays to be judged by the Whitman community! Congratulations to the writers for their selected plays and to the directors for their work during this process:
Worth Our Wait by Tara McCullough, directed by Drew Schoenborn
boating school by Drew Schoenborn, directed by Erin Kirkpatrick
The Incredible True Story of Corndog Millionaire by Troy Warwick, directed by Theo Henderson
This year’s lineup include a farcical romp through a post-apocalyptic landscape, a story about two friends, and an escapade that includes a department store, a bathroom stall, and a feminine hygiene product. Which show is which? You’ll have to come to one of the showings to find out!
These shows are in their final week of rehearsals this week, with tech rehearsals approaching fast. These shows, which are comprised of only student casts and crews, premiere next Wednesday.
And the best part? You’ll be the one to judge! After each performance, the audience will cast its votes to determine who takes home the cash prize.
Tickets are general admission (free for Whitman students!) and are on sale NOW! Come to the Harper Joy Theatre Box Office Monday through Friday 8:30am to 12:30pm, 1:30pm to 4:30pm, or 30 minutes before curtain. Or call (509) 527-5180.
